Penny Jones

I used to set out walking to the beach to paint.

In 2004 I started a Fine Art Painting degree course at the West Wales College of the Arts which has introduced a whole new way of working. Walking became a part of my art practice and my interest in gender issues. I also took up the campaign of the inaccessible library from the college, at this time I started using public transport, working on journeys and making books.

From gaining the BA in 2007 I went on to Sheffield to do an MA in Cotemporary Fine Art where I began performance work and making videos.

I was born in London in 1949 and originally moved to Wales in 1978 then to Ireland in 1985 and back to Wales in 1992.I lived mostly in Sheffield 2007 to 2009.
